It’s easy to think that our fear of failure is what holds us back from making progress toward our goals. Because whether you’re entertaining a career pivot so you can finally do work that matters to you or you are starting to define yourself outside of motherhood by starting a business of your own, fear of failure is always in the back of your mind.
But fear of failure isn’t the only hurdle you have to overcome. And the more I talk with clients and women about pursuing their purpose beyond motherhood, the more I realize that fear of success is standing in your way too.
That’s because you know how to handle failure and disappointment, even though it's hard. But when you think about being successful beyond your wildest dreams, there’s a lot of unknown – and maybe you don’t actually think you could handle it.
Maybe you’re feeling like life is busy enough already. Or like you can’t imagine adding one more thing to your plate without going into overwhelm. Or you’re worried that if this thing – the business or career or calling you’re pursuing – takes off, you won’t be able to manage your household, have time for yourself or be the kind of present mom you want to be.
Does that sound about right?
I can speak so candidly about fearing success because I’ve been there. Sure, I worried about failing when I first started my coaching practice. But my bigger concern was that it would be successful because deep down I didn’t think my family could handle the time and energy that success would require of me.
That belief was the biggest hurdle I had to overcome to make my business a reality.
And through that process, I learned that you need two things to overcome your fear of success. First, you need to trust yourself. You need to trust that everything is “figureoutable” and that you are a smart woman who can make it all work. And you need to trust that you can go after your dreams and still live a balanced life as a mom and a woman doing her work in this world.
The second thing you need is a solid time management strategy, the kind that will show you that you really do have the time and space in your life to have “it all” on your terms. And since I have that tool and know how valuable it is, I want to share it with you on a FREE strategy session.
These 30 minute calls are for women like you who want to learn this tool, talk through your concerns and map out a plan that will show you that you can handle success – and overcome your fear of it too.
The catch is that I'm only offering SIX of these free sessions so if you want to one, act fast. Just send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know you're interested so I can get you the details to set up your call.
